Food for Thought – Spread some joy each day.
Our MOW breakfast had 65 people enjoying good food and visiting with friends. We received a total of $523.06 in donations. Thank you for your support. Those who served were Jeannette Bradford, Elizabeth Clark, Jo Lacy, Sandy Goodner, Janis King, Martha Laureles and Donovan Reader.
. Bingo on Monday had 27 players. The secret prize was won by Martha Laureles. The blackout amount of $57.52 was won by Ada May Culpepper. Come join us next Monday for lunch and stay to play Bingo.
Upcoming events – Mark your calendars! Quilt raffle daily – benefits our MOW program. Friday (Aug. 22) Amy from Calvert will sing at lunch time. Monday (Aug. 25) Bingo from 1-2. Tuesday (Aug. 26) Calvert from 11-12 Wednesday (Aug. 27) B and A Day- Bridge from 1-4. Thursday (Aug. 28) Dee Neill from SPAG will be giving a presentation on Medicare Part D.
Just for Laughs – Three elderly men at the doctor’s office for a memory test. The doctor ask the first man, “What is three times three?”
“Two hundred and eighteen,” comes the reply.
The doctor rolls his eyes, looks up at the ceiling, and says to the second man, “It’s your turn. What is three times three?”
“Friday,” replies the second man.
The doctor shakes his head sadly, then asks the third man, “Okay, your turn. What is three times three?”
“Nine,” says the third man.
“That’s great!” says the doctor. “How did you get the answer?”
“Simple,” he says, “Just subtract 218 from Friday.”
Mow deliveries for Aug. 11 – 15 were done by St. Joseph Catholic Church. Those who served were Robert Hurst, Len Dodson, Joyce Schwertner, Loretta Kitten, Rosemarie Hurst, Savanna Hurst, Addison Hurst, Edward Gaydos, Donovan Reader, Diane Wall, and Ronald Schilling. .
Mow deliveries for Aug. 25 –29 is the responsibility of Slaton Care Center.
