Former Slatonite Dennis Brooks, Best Selling Author and Vietnam Veteran who received 2 Bronze Stars for Valor, 28 air medals, 2 Purple Hearts and a Congressional Life Saving Medal had a book signing at The Slaton Bakery on Saturday June 14th. Many people were on hand. Some of which came all the way from Snyder Tx. In addition, Mayor Dubbin Englund presented Mr. Brooks with a “Key To The City” for his sacrifices and service to his country during Vietnam and for documenting it in his Best Selling Book titled “Above it All.” If you missed the book signing, they are available for purchase at The Slaton Bakery. Proceeds benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project.
