Angelina Dixon SLATON-Angelina Dixon, 69 of Slaton, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at Covenant Heart Hospital. She was born Jan. 5, 1947, to the late Modesto and Ambrosia Navarrette. Angelina was a homemaker and loved by many. She was an avid basketball fan and loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play all sports. Angelina is preceded in death by her parents, Modesto and Ambrosia Navarrette; sister, Margaret Gonzales; and one grandson, Toby Ward. Angelina leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Lester; two sons, Moses Navarrette and Ronnie Navarrette; three daughters, JoAnn Mallory, Crystal Navarrette, and Cathy Zavala; three brothers, Modesto Navarrette, Pete Navarrette, and Fred Navarrette; two sisters, Sally Roberts and Gloria Navarrette; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church, Slaton. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.
