Slaton ISD received a portion of this big check from LEDA and Texas Workforce Commission. The award was a grant for $15,000 to be used for the Culinary Arts Program. Last year SISD was was awarded $25,000 for their new welding program. The $165,000 check in the photo is the amount for the region.
