Slaton Public and Private Basements and Cellars (Update)

Mark, I just wanted to give you an update in regards to the registration of Public and Private Basements and Cellars. We currently have approximately 55 private locations and 4 public locations registered. This has been a positive outcome for the fire department to assist us with locating victims should a disaster strike the Slaton area. The following locations are Public Shelters which have confirmed that they will open the doors whenever needed:

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
MERCY CENTER 605 S. 19TH
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH 255 S. 9TH
FIRST UNITED METHODIST 305 W. LUBBOCK
HARVEY HOUSE 400 RAILROAD AVE.

I want to thank you for your assistance with this project, anytime we can obtain information like this it only benefits the public with rapid response time for 1st responders. Should anyone still want to be on this list or the private lists please contact me or the fire department.
