Food for thought – Today is a gift all wrapped up and ready for you to open – enjoy!
Our first monthly 42 game on the 11th had a small turnout. Those who came to play were Bob Adams, Earl Eblen, Janis King, Eunice Montgomery, Imogene Davis, Jay Lacy, Gene Droemer and Jo Lacy. A few took turns playing 42 and Amtrak. We are changing the monthly 42 games to the 3rd Tuesday of each month. I forgot railroad retirement was on the 2nd Tuesday. Make plans for next month to play 42.
Thanks to all who participated in our Fathers Day celebration. The bulletin board is full of stories and sayings. Stop by and read the notes.
Bingo on Monday had 26 players. The secret prize was won by Monica Urias. The Blackout amount of $50.85 was won by Imogene Davis. .
Upcoming events – Mark your calendars! Monday (June 24) Bingo from 1-2. Tuesday (June 25) Calvert will be here from 11-12 to check your BP. Wednesday (June 26) B & A Day-Bridge starting at 1:00.
Just for laughs – Pastor Smith had a long session in his dentist’s chair having all of his teeth pulled and a set of dentures installed and was back in his pulpit the following Lord’s Day.
The first Sunday he preached only ten minutes.
The second Sunday he preached twenty minutes.
But on the third Sunday he preached for an hour and a half.
When some members asked about the time variations, he responded: “The first Sunday, my gums were so sore it hurt to talk. The second Sunday, my dentures were hurting a lot. The third Sunday, I accidentally grabbed my wife’s dentures- and I couldn’t stop talking!”
MOW deliveries for June 10 – 14 were done by Guadalupe Catholic Church. Those who served were Gloria Olivares, Matteo Olivares, Cynthia Olivares, Abigail Villanueva, Yvette Torres, Alma Villanueva, and Gabriel Olivares.
MOW deliveries for June 24-28 is the responsibility of First Methodist Church.
