Food for thought – The most wasted of all days is one without laughter!
We had B and A day last Wednesday. Those celebrating their birthdays were Mary Edmunds, Estelle Heinrich, Jo Ann Williams, Janis King, and Luz Gutierrez. Dean and Marie Shaw celebrated 59 years of marriage. Congratulations to all the celebrants.
Our pot luck and game nite on Thursday was a big success. We had 32 people show up for good food and a lot of fun. There were enough players for a table of Bridge, Am-trak, 42 and Skip-Bo. The best thing was all the laughter that was heard all evening long. We will do this again, so watch this article for the date and time.
Upcoming events – Mark your calendars! Monday (May 6) HFF will be here from 10-12 to check your BP, blood sugar, and weight. Bingo from 1-2. Tuesday (May 14) Calvert will be here from 11-12 to check your BP. Saturday (May 18) Our MOW breakfast from 8 – 9:30.
Bingo on Monday had 30 people trying to win a prize. The secret prize was won by Monica Urias. The Blackout amount of $63.05 was won by Imogene Davis. Come join us next week for Bingo. .
Just for laughs – Joan’s parrot was always cursing, so she asked the vet how she could stop it. “Every time the bird swears, put it in the freezer for 15 seconds,” he advised.
The next time the parrot swore, Joan did as the vet said. When she opened the freezer door to release the parrot, it was very contrite
“I’m sorry for the bad language, and it will never happen again,” it said. “By the way what did the chicken do?”
MOW deliveries for April 22 -26 were done by Guadalupe Catholic Church. Those who served were Raymond Garcia, Gloria Olivares, Abigail Villanueva, Donover Reader, Alma Villanueva, Gloria Ruiz, Cynthia Olivares, and Hilaria Serenil. MOW deliveries for May 6 -10 is the responsibility of the First Methodist Church.
