Louise Brake
(Slaton) Louise Brake, 88 of Slaton passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Saturday, February 6th, 2016, in Hearts Together Church of Christ with Curtis Baker officiating. Graveside services will follow in Englewood Cemetery, under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
The family will have a visitation from 6 to 7:30 PM, Friday, February 5th, 2016, at Englunds.
Louise was born November 22, 1927 to Raymond Frank, and Gladys Cornelia (Conner) Gentry on the farm near Posey. She graduated from Slaton High School. She worked for H. E. Stokes at the Oldsmobile dealership from 1966 thru 1987. Louise was the Columnist for the Senior Citizens Colum in the Slatonite for many years. She married Charlie V. Brake on February 21, 1948 in the Methodist Church parsonage. Louise was also a homemaker and member of the Hearts Together Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by Charlie in July of 2000 and a son David on January 11th, 2016.
Louise is survived by her daughter Connie Duncan, of Slaton and a son, Shelby and wife Holly Brake of Lubbock, along with four grandchildren, Michelle and husband Walker Carter, Brandon and wife Chasey Duncan, Clayton and wife Calley Brake and Evan Brake and nine great grandchildren.
