Slaton- Bryan Christopher Gray, 44 of Slaton, Texas passed quietly from this life on Friday, October 20, 2017 in Slaton, Texas.
Bryan was born Thursday, August 16, 1973 in Lubbock, Texas, the son of Joe and Marilyn Nemeth. Bryan graduated from Slaton High School in 1991. He went through the South Plains Association of Governments Police Academy and graduated with a Law Enforcement License. Bryan drove a truck full time for Crop Production Services of Slaton and worked as a Police Officer for the Ransom Canyon Police Department. Bryan had a real passion for Law Enforcement serving as a licensed officer for 18 years, he had his Master Peace Officer license, was SWAT certified and being a part of something bigger than himself allowing him to help others. Bryan married Tonya Slagle Gray on July 27, 2002 enjoying 15 years of marriage.
Bryan is survied by his wife, Tonya Gray, his parents, Joe and Marilyn Nemeth of Ransom Canyon; a brother, Paul and wife Sukie Nemeth of Southaven, MS; step sons Dustin and Shawn Bishop of Omaha NE, grandparents Joe Sr. and Sarah Nemeth of Waco, TX.
Bryan was preceded in death by his biological father, Danny Gray in 1987.
The Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday at First United Methodist Church – Slaton located at 305 West Lubbock Street Slaton, Texas 79364 with Weldon Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Englewood Cemetery, Slaton, TX.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Friday, October 27, 2017, at Englunds, 1400 Woodrow Road, Slaton, Texas. Memorial contributions may be sent to Bill Townsend Scholarship Memorial Fund140 East Panhandle St. Slaton, TX 79364 c/o Slaton ISD.
