(Slaton) Carlton Wilke, 83, of Wilson, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the St. John Lutheran Church, in Wilson, TX with Pastor Tonda Freitag officiating. Graveside services will follow in Green Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. The family will have a visitation from 6 to 7:30 Wednesday July 6, 2016 at Englunds.

Carlton was born on May 7, 1933, to Benno Otto Fredrick and Ella Klara Becker Wilke, in Southland. He graduated from Wilson High School. Carlton married Mary Frances Campbell on August 22, 1953, in the First Baptist Church of Wilson. His career started as a roofer as he began his farming career in 1953. He was a Cotton farmer for 46 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church. He served faithfully on the church boards and the Farmers Coop Gin board.Carlton is survived by his wife of 62 years and 11 months, Mary; daughters, Carla Cavender of Wilson, Janet Ibarguen and Stephen, Dina Tehan, all of Dallas, Kendall Wilke and Wesley Wilke both of Wilson a brother Curtis and Linda Wilke, along with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
