Lucille Brown
(Slaton) Lucille Brown, 98, of Lubbock, formerly of Wilson passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, June 8, 2016, in Englunds Chapel with Keith Church officiating. Graveside services will follow in Englewood Cemetery, under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. The family will have a visitation from 6 to 7:30 PM, Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Englunds.
Lucille was born December 20, 1917, to Walter Lee and Lena Eual (Kilgore) Posey in Haskell County.Lucille worked in retail sales , childcare or on an assembly line at Texas Instruments. She became a Christian at 17. She was a member of the Westmoreland Baptist Church and served in childcare and was active in Sunday School classes and VBS .
Lucille is survived by her son, Travis Dean; his wife Marilyn B. Brown of Lubbock; along with two granddaughters and spouses: Roxanne & Robert Welch and Rhonda & Keith Church; 2 great- grandchildren, Ryker & Ramsey Taylor; sister Mildred Jo Spurgin of Albany; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Clayton and Howard Posey.
