Graduation 2017 Shuttle service announcement and map
While construction in our district continues on all of our campuses, we realize that there will be some parking changes that need to occur in order to accommodate large events.
One of these events is coming up next week. The Slaton High School Graduation will occur on Thursday, May 25th at 7:00 pm in the Slaton High School Gym. This is always an exciting and busy day for so many Slatonites and we want to do everything we can to help make this a smooth and special event for everyone.
Since parking will be limited, Slaton ISD has arranged for Lubbock Citibus to provide Trolley shuttle service from Tiger Football Field to the gym before and after graduation. This service will be offered free of charge and nobody will have to pay to ride.
Doors will open at the high school for seating at 6:00 pm.
The trolley will begin running at 5:30 pm and continue to run until 9:30 pm. Again, the Trolley service will be free for everyone needing a ride. Security will be in place at Tiger field to ensure a safe and orderly experience.
SHS Baccalaureate & Graduation Details…
2017 Senior Class Baccalaureate is Sunday, May 21st at 3:00pm in the Slaton High School Auditorium. Please arrive by 2:00pm dressed in your cap, gown and chords.
Graduation rehearsal is May 24th @ 8:00am. Please arrive to graduation practice “camera ready” with your cap and gown. We will take a senior class picture just before graduation practice begins. We will be serving you breakfast so come hungry. When practice has concluded the senior class will don their caps and gowns and bus over to SFA, CTE and Junior High for a Spirit Walk.
The 2017 Senior Class graduation is Thursday, May 25th at 7:00pm. Graduates need to be in the cafeteria by 6:00pm. Doors will open for guests at 6:00. There is no reserved seating at graduation.
Dress code for Graduation ceremony is as follows:
Boys: clean shaven, dark slacks, white button down shirt with a collar, tie, and nice, dark dress shoes (no flip-flops, house shoes, or tennis shoes)
Girls: a dress or dark slacks with nice shoes (no flip-flops, house shoes, or tennis shoes). Attach the white collar that comes with your cap and gown.
Project Celebration will be held at SHS after graduation beginning at 10:00 pm concluding at 3:00 am for Seniors and 2:00 am for underclassmen.
