Manuel N. Flores, Jr.

manuel-flores(Slaton) Rosary Service for Manuel N. Flores, Jr. 96, of Slaton, will be Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Mass Service will be celebrated at 10:00 AMMonday, November 14, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Chacko Thadathil officiating. Graveside will follow in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Manuel was born September 22, 1920, in Castanos, Coahuila, Mexico to Manuel N. Flores and Guadalupe (Navarro) Flores. At the age of 8 he moved to Bay City, Texas with his family in 1928 and they moved again to Rosebud, TX when he was 16. Manuel married Feliciana Garcia on September 22, 1945 in Waco. They moved to the Southland / Slaton area in 1947. Manuel started work at the age of three herding goats. Once grown, he worked in farming and retired in 1982. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Feliciana, in 2009 and two sons, Liberado and Bobby.  

Those left to cherish his memory include five sons, Louis and wife Teresa, Jimmy and wife Nancy, and David all of Slaton, Chris and wife Nico of Lubbock, and Johnny and Shirley of Goodlettsville, TN; five daughters, Rosemary Quintero of Big Springs, Pearl Martinez and Diana Salazar, Emma and husband Ricky Morales, all of Slaton, Ludie and Eddie Caudillo of Lubbock, one sister, Camila Jaramillo of Slaton along with thirty-six grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
