Fundraiser for Isaac Dabila
There will be a basketball game fundraiser held for Isaac Dabila on November 7th at 7PM. The game will be the Slaton Police Department playing against the Slaton Fire Department. The entry fee is $5 for adults and $3 for students (age 4 and under is free). There will be a silent auction during the game and local businesses can donate by contacting Dustin Brown 632-5337.

We are having a Halloween party Monday the 31st come in costume! There will be prizes.
Our monthly 42 had 4 players Eunice Montgomery, Sandy Goodner, Imogene Davis, and Janis King. Come November 15 for our next 42 and let’s work on more tables.
Birthday and Anniversaries will be on the 16th due to Thanksgiving and menu difficulties.
Bingo on Monday had 29 players. The secret prize was won by Jay Lay. The blackout amount of $48.30 was won by Snow Arguello. Come next Monday for lunch and have a lot of fun.
We are having a raffle for a queen size comforter. $1.00 a ticket or 6 tickets for $5.00. Come by the center and see it and buy a ticket or more.

Delfino G. Alonzo Sr.
Delfino G. Alonzo, Sr. SLATON-Rosary services for Delfino G. Alonzo, Sr., 95, of Slaton will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, October, 26, 2016, in Englunds Chapel. Celebration of life service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, in Slaton’s St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father George Poonely officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Delfino was born Dec. 24, 1920, in Rosebud, Texas, to Doroteo Melendrez and Cecilia Garcia Alonzo. He passed from this life Oct. 23, 2016, in Lubbock. Delfino attended Rosebud Schools. On June 6, 1946, he married Margarita Rojas in Rosebud, Texas. He worked for Texas A&M before moving to the high plains to farm, to Lorenzo in 1952, and Slaton in 1961. His career in Food Service began in 1970 and he retired in 1994 from Furr’s Cafeteria. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Margarita of the home; three sons, Martin and his wife, Olga of Pflugerville, Delfino, Jr. and his wife, Jase of Slaton, and Charlie and his wife, Annette of Lubbock; a sister, Virginia Montolongo of Lubbock; along with seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
