(Slaton)  Services for Corine “Maw” Perkins, 86, of Acuff area will be 10:00 AM Thursday, May 19, 2016 Buffalo Community Church at Buffalo Springs Lake with Jack Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. The family will have a visitation from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Wednesday, May 18 at Englunds.

“Maw” was born November 11, 1929, in Bangs, TX to Tom and Vie Horn. She joined her husband, Bill, in heaven Monday, May 16, 2016. She graduated Colorado City ISD in 1947. She married Billy Olen Perkins on November 28, 1951. They started their life together in Abilene where Corine worked for a watch company. “Maw” loved her family, caring for others and her crossword puzzles. They moved to Lubbock in 1965 and Billy preceded her in death in 1990. She was a Baptist and taught Sunday School. She was also preceded in death by a son, Billy Wayne Perkins and a grandson, Ryland Perkins.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Teresa and husband Michael Withers of Lubbock, a son, Edward L. Perkins and wife Tammy of Terrell; along with 7 grandchildren, Cory Allen Withers and wife Tammy, Sheresa Michell and husband Nick Nunley: Franklin Wayne Perkins, Christopher Olein Perkins and wife Lacy, Khristian Elizabeth Perkins, Tyler Perkins and Riley Perkins along with 5 great-grandchildren.

Mercy Retreat Center received a special delivery at 7am this morning!!!  The Wilson’s of Slaton Bakery delivered 1,000 dozen (12,000) cookies to be used for a special retreat this weekend.
