Softball: Slaton vs Roosevelt Results

by Brandon Langston

Our varsity is now 6-10 on the season and 3-2 in district. We are sitting tied for 3rd as of now.

Softball Stats vs Roosevelt 4/5

Slaton 12 – Roosevelt 10

Slaton: 2 runs in the 3rd, 5 runs in the 4th, and 5 runs in the 5th.

Roosevelt: Scored in every inning 2,1,2,1,2,1,1

Clarissa – 2B in 5th to score 2

Leslie – 3 Runs scored

Jada – 3-5 with 3 RBI’s and 1 run scored Michael – 2-3 2 runs and 1 RBI Mireya – 2B in 3rd and had 3 RBIs Alyssa – 2-3 2 runs scored Malory – 2 Runs scored. 7 innings pitched, 6 K, 2 BB, 4 earned runs

Our girls have been playing hard and were able to battle back after some early errors on routine plays. Every girl in the lineup had either a run scored or an RBI which is huge when you can get that kind of production from everyone in the lineup. Defensively it was not a great game for us but when we needed to make a play someone always stepped up to make it in the crucial situations to keep their runs to a minimum each inning.

Tigerettes Muleshoe Track Results

Slaton Track 2by Rustin Klafka

The Tigerettes competed on a cold, soggy day in Muleshoe Friday April 1.  We all thought it may have been a terrible April Fools joke from the Track Gods when we saw snow accumulating on the ground on our drive up but there was no relief from the cold weather.  Luckily Muleshoe didn’t receive the snow.  It was rain only on the Muleshoe track.  Our girls competed well in 30 degree weather.

We will be traveling down the road the Roosevelt on Thursday for our next meet.  Come down and watch the girls compete this week.
