Update:
Another rollover 5 miles east of town. Roads still frozen
Traveling on these roads is still discouraged.
Within the last 11 hours Slaton Emergency Services has responded to 3 rollovers on hwy 84
2 east of town
1 west of town
1 ejection
I share this with you in hopes that you’ll understand the problem is still real.
Within the city limits. Very very slick or deep frozen ruts. Low profile cars have been stuck most often.
Motel is full. We housed one person at my office for the night with a blanket and a spare couch. Thank you to the citizen that got out of his bed at 1 am to get him out. His vehicle is still stranded but he is out of the elements resting safely. Amazing acts of kindness like this one is what the world needs.
