Our varsity competed in the first annual Sadler Monument Tigerette Tournament and placed 3rd. The Tigerettes beat New Deal and Tulia on Thursday and then beat Lockney on Friday morning before falling to Ralls on Friday evening to put them in the 3rd place game where they beat Lockney again. The varsity girls played well throughout the tournament. The other teams in the Tournament were Denver City, Ralls, Roosevelt, Lovington, NM, Tulia, New Deal, Lockney. Our varsity is now 12-4 on the season.
Also, this past weekend our JV Tigerettes competed in the JV tournament where they lost in the 3rd place game to finish 4th. In the JV tournament they had Borden County, Hermleigh, and Lubbock Titans varsity teams as well as Denver City, Levelland, Roosevelt, and Idalou JV teams. Our JV team has played more Varsity teams then they have JV teams so far this season and are competing really well.
I really want to thank all of our sponsors that helped put on these tournaments, Sadler Monument, Slatonite, Smith South Plains, United Supermarkets, Centennial Bank, Caprock Santa Fe Credit Union, Anne’s Catering, Slat Co, and On the Boarder. I also want to thank Klemke’s and Slaton Bakery who helped provide items for the concession stand. I also want to thank all of the parents who helped run the concession stand throughout the tournaments and helped with other jobs. It takes a lot of work to host a tournament and it was amazing how much community members and parents were willing to donate and jump in to help make both tournaments very successful. We had 8 teams in both tournaments and plan on hosting these tournaments again next year and possibly growing the number of teams. Once again thank you to everyone that helped sponsor and run the tournament.
Thanks,
