Food for thought – Your life is limited so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.
We had another successful MOW breakfast Saturday May 18th. Donations totaled $543.40. There were 65 people enjoying the good food plus a lot of visiting. Thank you for your support and donations. Those who helped with the breakfast were Jeannette Bradford, Jo Lacy, Eunice Montgomery, Janet James.
We are trying to put together a group of 42 players to play once a month. If you like to play 42 and would be interested let us know. We will have a sign up sheet for those who are interested.
Upcoming events – Mark your calendars! Monday (May 27) The center will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. Bingo will be held on Tuesday. Tuesday (May 28) Calvert will be here from 11-12 to check your BP. Bingo at 1:00.
Bingo on Monday had 28 people playing. The secret prize was won by Carolyn Walker. The Blackout amount of $53.10 was won by Mary Flores.
Just for laughs – The man sitting next to me on a recent flight was terrified of planes; he couldn’t shaking. So I suggested he get a scotch from the flight attendant, which he did, drinking it down one gulp.
“Can I get another one?” he asked me. I pointed out the button above his head and told him to press it if he wanted another drink.
He promptly stood up, pushed the button, and held his glass underneath it.
MOW deliveries for May 13 – 17 were done by Hearts Together Church of Christ. Those who served were Anita King, Ann Hardesty Bishop, Tracy Menzer, Barbara Parks, Rhonda Sikes, Donovan Reader, Karen Horn, John Deleon, Alan Martin, and Marvin Self.
MOW deliveries for May 27 – 31 is the responsibility of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
