Time is growing short for the Mercy Ministries Slaton Area Endowment to complete the $100,000 campaign that will result in an additional $ $50,000 matching grant from the Lubbock Area Foundation.  In order to reach the goal, $16,000 must be raised by December 31st.  Every gift, large and small, to the Mercy Ministries Slaton Area Endowment is an investment in the future of Slaton.

“We believe that the future of Slaton is improving because the people who love their home town now have a way to meet current needs as well as the future needs of our children and grandchildren.”  said Mark Meurer, Chairman of the Mercy Ministries Slaton Area Endowment.  “We have a long history of working together to take care of our own needs and to make Slaton a better place to live and raise our families.   The Slaton Area Endowment is just one more way that we can assure the well-being of our community far beyond our own lifetimes.”

BACKGROUND:

Mercy Ministries Slaton Area Endowment was launched in late 2012 as the newest partner in the Lubbock Area Foundation Affiliate Endowment Challenge.  As a community endowment, Mercy Ministries Slaton Area Endowment provides a way for each and every citizen to lend a hand that’s always ready to help when needed – now and for generations to come.  The Mercy Ministries Slaton Area Endowment is overseen by local citizens and involves a number of local volunteers who are serving on a Community Development Advisory Committee to aid the Mercy Ministries Slaton Area Endowment in assessing community needs and raising the initial fundraising goal of $100,000.

The Mercy Ministries Slaton Area Endowment exists to help people who care about their community to invest – at any level – in its future.    To learn more about the Mercy Ministries Slaton Area Endowment, visit us on the web at www.mercyslatonendowment.org or call Mark Meurer at (806) 789-8456.
