Slaton 2 – DC 8: @ Post Friday

Tigers lost a tough one to DC last night, did lots of things right. Made tons of defensive plays and hit the ball hard, just couldn’t find enough gaps in their defense.

In spite of that, if Idalou beats Roosevelt, and we beat Post on Friday, we will force a 3 way tie for the final playoff spot, and have a mini-playoff to determine who will go to the playoffs.

Please consider making the drive to Post Friday afternoon (5pm game time) and supporting our young men as they fight to get that playoff spot. I’ve never seen these boys give up when there’s a reason to fight, and I’m glad to have these boys to claw for that spot.

WE STILL CONTROL OUR DESTINY.

  • The Lubbock ISD Hall of Honor Class of 2014 was recognized and honored for their accomplishments Saturday at Lubbock .Bezel Bailey w 1957 Dunbar High School state championship boys’ basketball team; Estacado track coach Caylene Caddell and Matadors athlete James Collins, Coronado football star Kevin Curtis, Monterey basketball coach Joe Michalka, Monterey football coach James Odom, Lubbock ISD athletic director Pete Ragus,Coronado football star Mike Smith, Dunbar athlete and coach Prenis Williams and the 1951 Lubbock High boys basketball team were all inducted into the LISD Hall of Honor.
  • World Cup – USA & Portugal end in a Draw. The USA & Germany play Thursday 11 AM ESPN.
  • The Los Angeles Angels sweep the Texas Rangers with a 5-2 victory last night. The Rangers are off today beginning 4 games against the Tigers Tuesday.
  • The Tampa Bay Rays beat the Houston Astros 5-2 yesterday. The Astros have the day off and begin 3 against the Braves Tuesday.
  • Carl Edwards wins NASCAR Sunday in Sonoma California.
  • College World Series Final , Virginia and Vanderbilt Game 1 tonight at 7pm.Mark Allen Sports

No. 18 Tech Baseball beat Abilene Christian 10-2 Tuesday night. Host OK St Fri, Sat, Sun.
Tech Softball Cara Custer was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week. Host Texas Fri, Sat, Sun.
Houston Rockets beat the Dallas Mavericks 111-99 last night Game 2 Western Conf. Game 3 Friday in Dallas.
Texas Rangers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-1 last night. Game 2 tonight 8:40pm.
Houston Astros beat Seattle Mariners 6-3 last night. Game 3 tonight 9:10pm
The Cowboys are opening against the New York Giants again. Sept 13
