World Premier Night – “Arroyo” – Hundreds Attend!

Several hundred gathered for the World Premier of Arroyo at Premiere Cinemas at the South Plains Mall last night.   Numerous familiar faces from the Slaton – Southland – Post – Lubbock area were in the Jeremy Boring movie.   The movie continues though this weekend.  We hope you have a chance to watch the movie.

5th Friday Art – Jan 31

Art SquareANNOUNCING:

The first 5th Friday Arts on the Slaton Square Event for 2014 will be held this month on January 31st.

The Art Galleries on the Square will be open from 6-9 pm showcasing talented visual artists from Texas Tech’s Graduate, Undergraduate and Alumni programs; as well as local and regional artists.

Featuring student/alumni artworks from Texas Tech will be Waters South Art Gallery, Inbetween Art Gallery, V2 Art Gallery, and Jennifer Greer’s Art Gallery.

Multiplicity Art Gallery will be hosting a Jewelry as Art Exhibit featuring the mixed media jewelry work of Barbra Beller. Other artworks will be available for purchase from members of the Llano Estacado Clay Guild, as well as local and regional artists.  Artists include Roger Holmes, Judy Connell Robertson, Cecily Maples, Marsha Davis, Carol Koenig, Tom Hicks, Jerry Thompson, Willa Finley, Susan Sheets, and Barbra Beller.

Come to the Slaton Square and find something truly unique and special for your VALENTINE!

Other locations on the square which will be open that night include the Slaton Bakery, the Railroad Museum, the Slaton Museum, the Town Square Antique Mall, and the Quilt Shop.  Enjoy bakery delights, model trains, history, antiques, fabrics, art culture, and MORE. . .

Sweatpants On Sale! Slaton High

SweatpantsThe Junior class at SHS is raising money to pay for prom this year and we need your help!  The Junior Class Prom Committee and I have created affordable sweatpants designed with the Slaton Logo.  They are drawstring at the waist and open legged at the bottom.  In other words, no elastic down around those ankles. They are just $20.  Yes, I said it, $20!  We are offering Youth and Adult sizes from XS to XXL.  Any sizes XXL or higher are an additional $2.
