Random Thoughts by TP from 2013

randomFrom Tony Privett (email)

Here is my annual list of things I heard (or heard again) the past year that made me chuckle. Thanks to all, living and deceased who authored these gems.  Names omitted to protect the guilty.  If you didn’t contribute this year, join me in resolving to contribute more humor to the world in 2014!

1. I never walk into a room thinking I’m the smartest person there, but sometimes it just works out that way.

2. I value your opinion, but not when I know better.  And in this case I know better.

3. People know what they want; sometimes you just have to help them realize it.

4. Getting this dumbed-down for you is giving me a headache.

5. Bad news can be good news when you’re the first to know it.

6. The thing about tying two snakes together is that they can bite a lot of people before they turn on each other.

7. The legislature’s problem is when we have five kids and three pork chops we get rid of two kids.

8. A smart man learns from his mistakes.  A wise man learns from others’ mistakes.

9. Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.

10. If you are the smartest person in the room, you need to find another room.

As a Slaton Jr. High student in the mid 70’s I started reading the Lbk AJ… Fell in love with the writings of Lewis Grizzard and read about his black lab and all his struggles with a single mother etc. etc. He made light of all things in his life. Later I started reading his books. However, it was during a trip to California where I purchased a book and saw that you handled his booking and lived right where I lived. My only question, to you , how did this happen ?
