Food for thought – If all is not lost, where is it?

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We had a short week at the center.  Due to weather and holiday we were only open on Tue. and Wed.

Since we were closed on Monday we played Bingo on Tuesday.  There were 14 players.  The secret prize was won by Valerie Alva. The blackout amount of $36.30 was won by Monica Urias.

It is December and time to think about Christmas.  This is the one time of the year we really decorate our center.  Our tree decorating party will be Monday the 9th starting at 5:30.  Bring money for pizza and cookies to munch on.  Come join us for fun.

Our MOW pie sale with the help of United and Sara Lee was held from Nov. 15 thru Nov. 23.  We do not have the final total from United at this time.  The amount our volunteers received was $3551.53.  Those who volunteered were Karen Branscum, Gene Droemer, Beverly Droemer, Imogene Davis, Janis King, Jeannette Bradford, Jo Lacy, Donovan Reader, Beverly Frazier, and Janet James.  Thanks to all who helped and to those who generously donated!

Bingo on Monday had 22 people trying to win a prize.  We had two secret prizes won by Monica Urias.  The blackout amount of $48.95 was split by Connie Garza and Diana Walker.  Come join us next Monday for lunch and stay to play Bingo.

Upcoming events – Mark your calendars! Monday (Dec.9) Bingo from 1 – 2. Tuesday (Dec. 10) Calvert from 11 -12.  Monday (Dec. 16) HFF from 10 – 12 –Bingo from 1 -2.  Tuesday (Dec. 17) Monthly 42 game.  Wednesday (Dec. 18) B & A Day.

Just for laughs – Tracy hadn’t talked to her grandparents for a while and decided she should call and update them. “I had a terrible time!”  She told them.  “First off I got tonsillitis, followed by appendicitis and pneumonia.  After that, I got rheumatism, and to top it off they gave me hypodermics and inoculations. I thought I would never get through the spelling bee!”

Mow delivers for Nov 25 – 29 were done by Hearts Together Church of Christ. Those who served were Tracy Menzer, Anita King, Curtis Baker, and Dennis Payne.

MOW deliveries for Dec. 9 – 13 is the responsibility of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
