Food for Thought – The secret to longevity is to keep breathing!

Menu: March 31st – April 4th

Monday 31st – Chicken Tenders, Mashed Potatoes, Mixed Squash, Fruit Cup, Wheat Roll, 2% Milk, Tea/Lemon

Tuesday 1st – Beef Soft Taco, Spanish Rice, Broccoli, Seasoned Corn, Mandarin Oranges w/Topping, 2% Milk

Wednesday 2nd – Salisbury Steak w/Mushroom Sauce, Mashed Potatoes, Spinach, Pea Salad, Whole Wheat Dinner Roll, Fruit Cocktail, 2% Milk

Thursday 3rd – Polish Sausage, Pinto Beans, Coleslaw, Peaches, Cornbread, 2% Milk, Tea., 2% Milk, Tea/Lemon

Friday 4th – Hot Dog on Bun, Mustard, Baked Potato w/Sour Cream, Seasoned Broccoli, Pineapple Gelatin, 2% MilkThe monthly 42 game had 2 tables.  Those who played were Jimmie Pettigrew, Bob Adams, Margaret Phillips, Ella Mae Hall, Dwayne Walters, J. Lacy, Steve Colleps and Greta Cooper.  Let’s work on have 3-4 tables next month!

This past week we had some new help during lunch.  My niece Emily Enis was here delivering meals, picking up trays, plates and cleaning tables.  Emily is a member of The Jr. National Honor Society and chose to do her community service at our senior citizens center.  Thank you Emily for a job well done and come back again.

Bingo on Monday had 22 players hoping to win a prize. The secret prize was won by Ann Bishop. The blackout amount of $40.67 was split by Mary Maldonado, Rufina Perez, and Joyce Clark.                  .

Upcoming events – Mark your calendars!  Monday (March 31) Bingo 1-2 Friday (April 4) Amy from Calvert will entertain us with song during lunch. Monday (April 7) HFF from 10-12. Bingo from 1-2. Thursday (April 10) Balloon Volleyball starting at 1.

Just for Laughs – This farmer has a cow he adores, but his pasture runs through some railroad land, and at the same hour daily, a train whizzes by.  One day, the cow is missing, so the farmer sues the railroad. Before the case goes to the judge, the farmer agrees to settle for half.  The railroad lawyer says, “You had us worried. You could have held out for it all.”

The farmer says, “You had me worried too.  The cow came home this morning.”

Mow delivers for March 17 -21 were done by St. Joseph Catholic Church.
