Food for thought – Timeless beauty begins with a good heart.

We had a nice turnout for B and A Day.  Those celebrating birthdays were Jimmie Pettigrew (91 years young), Gretta Cooper, Alyce Mosser, Billy Biggs, Betty Knight, Beverly Droemer, Bill Alspaugh, Carolyn Rinne, and Humberto Leyva.  Those celebrating anniversaries were Jamis and Laurence King (54 yrs.), Edwin and Betty Knight (42 yrs.), Cal and Monica Urias (47 yrs.), and Jimmy and Charlotte O’Connell (44 yrs.).  Congratulations to all.

Bridge after lunch had three tables.  Those who played were Jolene Fondy, Bob Adams, Ralph Bravoco, J. D. Zinck, Marge Zinck, Sandra Voigt, Jo Ann Williams, Pat Davis, Gene Means, Rita Martindale, Rob Hiner and Max Robertson.  The winners were J. D. Zinck and Marge Zinck.

We are collecting items to help Tiffanie Powell at Stephen F. Austin for her art projects. Most of these items you would be throwing away or recycle.  The list is too long to list in this article.  Stop by the center and pick up a brochure.  By donating items to this project we can save Tiffanie hundreds of dollars on her budget.

It is Monday so that means Bingo time.  We had 22 people trying to win a prize. The secret prize was won by Diane Walker. The blackout amount of $56.40 was won by Connie Garza.                                    .

Upcoming events – Mark your calendars! Monday (July 4) the center will be closed, Monday (July 8) Bingo 1-2, Tuesday (July 9) Calvert from 11-12, Monday (July 15) HFF from 10-12, Bingo from 1-2, Tuesday (July 16) monthly 42 game starting at 1:00.

Just for laughs – An employee went to see his supervisor “Boss,” he said, “we’re doing some heavy housecleaning at home tomorrow, and my wife asked me to help with the attice and the garage, moving and hauling stuff.”        “We’re shorthanded,” the boss replied.  “I can’t give you the day off.”         “Thank you,” said the employee.  “I knew I could count on you!”

MOW deliveries for June 24 – 28 were done by First United Methodist Church. Those who served were Richard Edwards, Carolyn Marley, Lisa Nowlin, Darrel Norman, Jo Gay, Dicky Gamble, Ann Haire, May Belle Kern, Steve Campbell, and Jody Pendelton.
