SPOTLIGHTING SENIORS

Food for thought – Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.
Last week was a quiet one here at the center. This week is shaping up to be the same. Watch out for next week- “It’s Party Time!” Why not plan on joining us for some fun! We are planning a pot luck-game night to be held on Thursday April 25th. This is a night to get together and have some fun. Come join us for good food and lots of fun. It all starts at 5:30 p.m.
Upcoming events – Monday (April 22) Kay Davis will be here at lunch to give us information on nutrition. Bingo from 1-2. Tuesday (April 23) Calvert will be here from 11-12 to check your BP. Wednesday (April 24) B & A day and Bridge after lunch. Thursday (April 25) Pot luck and game night starting at 5:30.
Bingo on Monday had 24 players. The secret prize was won by Monica Urias. The Blackout amount of $47.37 was split by Pat Dawson and Nell Cole. Come join us for Bingo next Monday.
Just for laughs – A blind man travels to Texas. When he gets to his hotel room, he feels the bed. “Wow, this bed is big!” “Everything is big in Texas,” says the bellhop.
Later, the man goes downstairs to the bar and orders a drink; a mug is placed between his hands. “Wow, these drinks are big!”
The bartender replies, “Everything is big in Texas.”
After a few drinks, the blind man asks where the bathroom is located. The bartender says, “The second door to the right.” The blind man heads for the bathroom but accidentally enters the third door, which leads to the swimming pool, and he falls in. Scared to death, he shouts, “Don’t flush! Don’t flush!”
MOW deliveries for April 8-12 were done by St. Joseph Catholic Church. Those who served were Robert Hurst, Jake Wendell, Donovan Reader, Loretta Kitten, Arlene Steffens, Edward Gaydos, Lena Maldonado, Joyce Schwertner, and Rosemarie Hurst.
MOW deliveries for April 22 – 25 is the responsibility of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
