Food for thought – When we’re young we want to change the world.  When we’re old, we want to change the young.

We had a good turnout for B & A day.  It was great to see Max and Mary Jane Jackson back at table seven.  Those who celebrated a birthday were Gerry Waugh, Mary Ruiz, Ela Mae Hall, Charles Edmunds, Brannon Busby, Manuel Zaragoza, and Christina Deleon.  Gene and Lorrye Moore were celebrating 40 years of marriage. Congratulations to all.

Bridge after lunch had 4 tables.  Those who played were Jolene Fondy, Jo Ann Williams, Max Robertson, Troyce Wood, J. D. Zinck, Marge Zinck, Rob Hiner, Vysta Beard, Pat Davis, Sandra Voigt, Claudine Edwards, Kaia Hawley, Cynthia Williams, Ralph Bravoco, Wendell Day, and Bob Adams. The winners were Pat Davis and Sandra Voigt.

Bingo on Monday had 26 players. The secret prize was won by Ann Bishop. The blackout amount of $56.57 was split by Mary Galindo, Jay Lacy, and Carolyn Walker.

Just for laughs – A magazine photographer was assigned to get photos of a forest fire.  Smoke at the scene was too thick to get any good shots, so he called his office to request a plane.  “I’ll have it waiting for you at the airport,” his editor assured.

As soon as he arrived at the airport, sure enough, there was a plane near the runway.  He jumped in with his equipment and yelled, “Let’s go!”

The pilot took off and soon they were in the air.  “Fly over the north side of the fire.” Said the photographer, “and make three low-level passes.”

“Why?” asked the pilot. “Because I’m going to take pictures!” the photographer said with great exasperation.

After a long pause, the pilot said, “You mean you’re not the instructor.”
