Food for Thought – If you never try, you’ll never know.

We had a good turnout for B and A Day.  Those celebrating a March birthday were Margaret Melcher, Albert Rinne, Norma McCary, Steve Colleps, Janet James, Richard Edwards, Jordan Hodge, Fred Melcher and John Ramirez.  We had two couples celebrating an anniversary.  Those celebrating were Manuel and Lupe Zaragoza (41 yrs) and Elmer and Gerry Waugh (67 yrs).  Congratulations to all!

Bridge after lunch had 4 tables.  Those who played were Jolene Fondy, Bob Adams, Troyce Wood, Max Robertson, Sandra Voigt, Lamar Jones, Jo Ann Williams, Ralph Bravoco, Alma Jean Kennedy, Claudine Edwards, Margaret Edwards, J. D. Zinck, Marge Zinck, Jimaileen Jenson, Steve Campbell and Rob Hiner.  The winners were Troyce Wood and Jo Ann Williams.

Our first pot luck – game nite had 15 people in attendance.  Food was good and there were plenty of deserts.  We had 1 table of bridge and one table of Amtrak.  We will do this again.

Bingo on Monday had 22 players. The secret prize was won by John Ramirez. The blackout amount of $40.90 was won by Mary Maldonado.

Upcoming events – Mark your calendars!  Friday (April 4) Amy from Calvert will entertain us with song during lunch. Monday (April 7) HFF from 10-12. Bingo from 1-2. Thursday (April 10) Balloon Volleyball starting at 1.

Just for Laughs – A store manager overheard a clerk saying to a customer, “No ma’am, we haven’t had any for some weeks now, and it doesn’t look as if we’ll be getting any soon.”

Alarmed by what was being said, the manager rushed over to the customer who was walking out the door and said, “That isn’t true, ma’am.  Of course we’ll have some soon.  In fact, we placed an order for it a couple of weeks ago.”

Then the manager drew the clerk aside and growled “Never, never, never, never say we don’t have something.  If we don’t have it, say we ordered it and it’s on it’s way.  Now, what was it she wanted?”

“Rain.”
