Food for Thought – Always look on the bright side of life!

Just for Laughs – A man moved to a nursing home. He soon noticed that a woman was constantly staring at him. After a few days, he approached her and asked, “Ma’am, why have you been staring at me all the time?”
“You look just like my third husband,” she replied.
“Well, how many times have you been married?” he asked.
She answered, “Twice.”

Our monthly 42 game had 2 tables. Those who played were Jo Lacy, Eunice Montgomery, Sandy Goodner, Margaret Philips, Gretta Cooper, Jimmie Pettigrew, Imogene Davis, and Fred Melcher. It was great to have Eunice Montgomery back and playing 42. Let’s try for 3-4 tables on the 15th!

We held a bake sale on Thursday April 17 at United. A big thanks to our members who did a lot of baking, Donovan Reader for helping to load, unload, and sat up. Thanks to United for giving us space to set up and sell our goods. We made a total of $454.81 to benefit our MOW program. Thanks to the community of Slaton for your support.

Upcoming events – Mark your calendars! Friday (April 25) Encompass – will be here during lunch to talk about fall prevention and exercise. Monday (April 28) Bingo from 1-2. Monday (May 5) HFF from 10-12. Bingo from 1-2. Thursday (May 8) Monthly Balloon Volleyball starting at 1:00.

Bingo on Monday had 23 players. The secret prize was won by Joyce Clark. The blackout amount of $39.02 was split by Rufina Perez and Margaret Edwards. Come join us for lunch next Monday and then stay to play Bingo.

Mow delivers for April 14th – 18th were done by the First Methodist Church. Those who served were Richard Edwards, Jo Gay, Jane Williamson, Lisa Nowlin, Lynelle Swarner, D. Norman, Ella Mae Hall, and Steve Campbell.

MOW deliveries for April 28 – May 2 is the responsibility of Bible Baptist Church.

Monday 28th – Char. Bro. Hamburger, Tomato/Pickles/Onion, Herbed Potato Fries, Berry Cobbler, Wheat Bun, 2% Milk, Tea/Lemon
Tuesday 29th – Spaghetti/Meatsauce, Italian Vegetables, Broccoli, Autumn Jello, Garlic Toast, 2% Milk, Tea/Lemon
Wednesday 30th – Chopped BBQ w/Sauce on whole wheat bun, Pinto Beans, Grandma’s Potato Salad, Mandarin Oranges, 2% Milk, Tea/Lemon
Thursday 1st – Chicken Salad Sandwich, Tomato, Lettuce, Pickle, Macaroni Salad, Carrot Sticks, Watermelon, 2% Milk
Friday 2nd – Pork Chops, Turnip Greens, Black Eyed Peas, Applesauce, Cornbread, 2% Milk, Tea/Lemon
