Come join us for an open house at the Slaton Senior Citizens Center. This will take place starting at 11 a.m. Saturday April 11. We want you to see our center and all the activities that happen daily. If you want you can play pool, dominoes or other games.
Activities for the day will include some fund raisers for our MOW program. Plus the following:
The Lions Club will be serving free hamburgers from 11 to 1:00 p.m.
Bingo starting at 1:00 p.m. It will cost $1.00 a card or 6 for $5.00. We will play 5 games for prizes plus blackout for a guaranteed amount of $50.00.
Silent Auction of various items.
Bake sale- cakes, cookies and pies.
A raffle for 2 tickets to the Dallas Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles- $5.00 per ticket or 6 for $25.00. Drawing to be held on or before August 15.
We thank you in advance for coming and hope you enjoy your time with us. We also thank you for your support and donations to our MOW program.
Our monthly 42 game had two tables. Those who played were Ella Mae Hall, Eunice Montgomery, Jimmie Pettigraw, Margaret Phillips, Carolyn Rinne, Coy Rinne, Mae McKenzie, John Dominey. Let’s try for 3 tables on April 21 at 1:00 p.m.
The monthly Skip-Bo game had two tables. Those who played were Ella Mae Hall, Ada May Culpepper, Jo Lacy, Janet James, Eva Herrera, Pat Dawson, Imogene Davis, and Eunice Montgomery. Come join us on April 23 at 1:00 p.m.
Bingo on Monday had 18 players. The secret prize was won by Ada May Culpepper. The blackout amount of $36.50 was won by Connie Garza. Come for lunch next Monday and then stay and play Bingo.
Upcoming events – Mark your calendar! – Mon. (Mar. 30) Bingo from 1-2. Thursday (April 2) Our Easter Parade-wear your party-funny-etc. hat! Friday (April 3) Center closed for Good Friday.
MOW deliveries for March 16 – 20 were done by Guadalupe Catholic Church. Those who served were Gabriel Olivares, Gloria Olivares, Ramon Garcia, Kimberly Hernandez, Gaye Smith, Fernando Portillo and A.J. Garcia.
Mow deliveries for Mar. 30 – April 3 is the responsibility of Bible Baptist Church.
