Our condolences go out to the family of Alice Hancock. She was a sweet little lady. We miss you Alice.
Here it is Monday again and that must mean Bingo-Bingo. There were 26 people hoping to win a prize. The secret prize was won by Diane Walker. The Blackout amount of $43.77 was split by John Ramirez, Ada May Culpepper, and Pat Dawson.
Upcoming events – Mark your calendars! Monday (June 17) HFF will be here from 11-12 to check your BP, blood sugar (BS) and weight. Bingo from 1-2. Monday (June 24) Bingo from 1-2. Tuesday (June 25) Calvert will be here from 11-12 to check your BP. Wednesday (June 26) B & A Day-Bridge at 1:00.
Just for laughs – One morning a woman said to her husband, “I bet you don’t know what day this is.”
“Of course I do,” he indignantly answered, going out the door on his way to the office.
At 11:00, the doorbell rang, and when the woman answered it, she was handed a box containing a dozen long-stemmed red roses.
At 1:00, a foil-wrapped box of her favorite chocolates arrived.
Later in the afternoon, a boutique delivered a designer dress.
The woman couldn’t wait for her husband to come home. “First the flowers, then the candy, and then the dress!” she exclaimed when he walked in the door. “I’ve never had a more wonderful groundhog day in my whole life!”
MOW deliveries for June 3 – 7 were done by Slaton Care Center. Those who served were Kandi Melton, Brenda Meurer, Kristen Coffee, Laura Leake, Margaret Mirles, and Rachel Avila.
MOW deliveries for June 17-21 is the responsibility of First Baptist Church.
