Lock Your Computer When You Walk Away
It is a good idea to lock your computer when you walk away.  You can stop folks from prying into your content and stop folks from messing up a project.   You don’t need a padlock or chains. Computer operating systems have a password protected screen that locks.  The Windows default lock screen is simple.  Go to START and click the LOCK button. Or you can use the shortcut by pressing the WINDOWS button on your keyboard and the L button at the same time.  It is that easy!

When You Fast (Matt 6:5-15)

In the 1970’s, a man by the name of Richard Foster wrote an important book on the subject of spiritual disciplines.  The book was entitled, “Celebration of Discipline,” and it has since become a central book in the revitalization of the idea of “training in godliness” as Paul speaks of in 1st Timothy 4:7.  As Foster details many of the disciplines that the church has found valuable throughout its near two millennia of hisotry, he helps the believer in Christ understand his own unique role in cooperating with the grace of God to experience spiritual transformation.  Just as physical growth requires training and exercise, so also does the growth of the soul.  One of the ways that both the Bible and history have promoted as a means to experience that growth, is through the nearly forgotten practice of fasting.

Southland FFA Leadership CampSouthland FFA attended a Leadership Camp in Bigsprings, Tx.  Students, Bryce Meurer and Brandon Matteson, along with Ag Teacher Nick McCollister rallied with Area II students to learn how to lead by example and build spirit within organizations.  The experience helps student thoughout life.

Englewood Cemetery Research Committee

The Find A Grave Research Committee (citizens organization) encourages everyone who has a family member buried in Englewood to check out the information at findagrave.com.  If any information is incorrect or missing, please contact Sue (806.252.3773) or Cindy (806.828.4800) and help us to have a roster with as accurate and complete information as possible.

Englewood Cemetery has a colorful and varied history for its over 100 year existence.  It has been designated an historical cemetery, and it is estimated that there are over 10,000 burials.  While photographing and posting individual headstones for Find a Grave, a registry for cemeteries and their interments, and for Englewood, Sue Patterson discovered that there were numerous burials that did not have markers or even a name to designate who was resting there.  Through the years, some records were lost and record keeping was not a meticulous task as it is today.  According to former cemetery personnel, there were even some burials that took place by family members that were never registered.
